One of the things that we love about Braze is their constant drive to improve their marketing platform. They’re never resting, always innovating. To keep you from being “Brazed and Confused,” we want to highlight some of the new features and functions that were recently released and that we think are particularly exciting.
Because there are so many cool things to talk about, this time we’ve divided them up into two groups:
Empower Marketers with Data/Insights – These are features that empower marketers to handle their own data needs, reducing your reliance on IT. This can be incredibly powerful in ensuring that marketing programs aren’t lost in translation and that there are no unnecessary delays while waiting to free-up the right resources.
Expanded Features/Capabilities – Here, Braze has improved existing features and functions by expanding their capabilities and pushing the envelope so you can do more marketing faster and more effectively.
Empower Marketers
Data Transformation Templates
It’s common knowledge that data makes your customer engagement platform sing. The better the data you have in the Braze platform, the better your marketing can be! Historically, you had to rely on IT to manually call APIs and other third-party integration tools, but now there are Data Transformation templates. This low-code solution allows you to import data from templatized data mappings empowering you to take control of your data without heavy IT involvement.
Query Builder
Within the analytics suite, there are now two new reports to help you, the marketer, better understand how your Push marketing is performing. You can now determine the Top Performing Push Campaigns as well as the Push Performance by Segment. These reports are great for providing actionable insights that can fuel your future marketing strategies and decisions.
Expanded Features/Capabilities
CSV Imports for Custom Events
In the past, you could only import custom attributes via a CSV file, but now, you can import custom events too. This is a fantastic feature, especially during your onboarding and then again in the future when you want to bring in large amounts of new data.
Leveraging Liquid in Catalogs
If you’re like us and always trying to find new ways to leverage Braze’s Catalogs, then you’ll really appreciate this new enhancement. You can store and later leverage Liquid tags in your Catalogs! Braze has enabled this through their new “rerender” flags, allowing you to include dynamic personalization from a Catalog, much in the same way a CMS system would.
There is, however, a catch. At this time, in order for the personalization to work, you need to have used the personalized Liquid tag earlier in your message before the catalog references it. We assume Braze needs to cache the value to make the new coding work. Hopefully, this is something they will continue to improve in the future.
Personalized Path Use Case
Previously, the power of Personalized Pathing could only be used in single-entry Canvases. Braze has updated this feature, allowing you to leverage Personalized Pathing with Action-Triggered and Recurring Canvases. In these new scenarios, if the experiment is still running and the customer returns, they will automatically receive the same offer they go the first time for continuity’s sake. Then, if they come back after the experiment period, their options will reset.
Pick Up Where You Left Off
Lastly, for those everyday users, Braze developed a simple but highly functional feature in your dashboard. You will now see options to pick up your most recently touched Campaign, Canvas or Segments - and who doesn’t love less clicking when they’re developing?
Which of these new features are you most excited to use? If you want to learn more about anything Braze related, feel free to drop us a note.
